How to Get There

Car

From Lisbon

Take the A1 and A23 to the IP2 in Castelo Branco. Exit at junction 15 of the A23 — 1h38 (176 km). Follow the IP2, N246 and N246-1 to the EM1142 in Portalegre, passing through Vale da Aramenha, Portagem and Marvão.

From Porto

Take the A1 and A13 to the IC8 in Avelar. Exit at junction 24 of the A13 — 1h27 (156 km). Join the A23/IP2 at Castelo Branco — 48 min (71.2 km). Follow the A23 to the IP2, exiting at junction 15 — 8 min (14.5 km). Follow the IP2, N246 and N246-1 to the EM1142 in Portalegre — 44 min (52.4 km), passing through Vale da Aramenha, Portagem and Marvão. Total duration: about 1h38 (176 km).

Buses

Schedules and routes on the Rede-Expressos website — Lisbon ⇄ Marvão, stopping at Mora, Montargil, Ponte de Sor, Tolosa, Gáfete, Alpalhão, Portalegre and Castelo de Vide. Duration: about 4h25.

• Outbound — days 10, 11 and 12: one departure only, at 3:00 PM.
• Return — days 12 and 13: one departure only, at 7:55 AM.

Camping

Campsite

• During Marvão Rock Fest, camping is unmanaged/free: from September 10 (Wednesday) at 9:00 AM until September 13 (Sunday) at 12:00 PM.
• No prior reservation is needed.
• Even though camping is unmanaged, wristband holders get access to the changing rooms at Piscina Municipal de Portagem, the terrace, and free electricity points.
• We ask for civility and respect in the use of public spaces.

Flea Market

Two days of crafts, food and regional drinks at the festival entrance — a sensory experience that warms up the arrival of the festival.
